The session

What it’s about.

In the 1930s the English physician Edward Bach developed a system of 38 flower essences, each associated with an emotional state — fear, uncertainty, loneliness, over-sensitivity, despondency and more. This workshop is an introduction to that system: its history, how the essences are traditionally prepared and chosen, and how people use them in everyday life.

What you’ll do

  1. 1The story of Dr Bach and the 38 remedies
  2. 2The seven emotional groups and how the essences are organised
  3. 3How essences are traditionally prepared (the sun and boiling methods)
  4. 4A guided exercise on choosing remedies, and time for questions

FAQ

Usual questions.

No. Controlled studies have not shown effects beyond placebo. We present the remedies as a traditional practice that many people find meaningful, not as medicine.
